“Two Birds, One Stone” – Rapid Strike Urshifu is the Best Deck!

What’s up, Pokemon trainers? It felt like just yesterday that Battle Styles was released, and I love the new format. Many new decks are seeing a play and doing well at online events, and I couldn’t be happy with the diversity at hand here. It feels like a breath of fresh air has been placed into the lungs of the Pokemon TCG, and I’m living for it. Rapid Strike Urshifu is shaping up to be the best deck in the format as expected, and it seems we’re finally starting to see a “base” list take place and develop. There’s still a lot of creativity at hand here that is yet to be explored, so I urge you to deviate from the teachings of this article today. However, if you’re looking for something proven that can and will win future events, you’ve come to the right place! Let’s dive into one of the poster boys for the newest set, Battle StylesRapid Strike Urshifu VMAX!

Battle Styles Competitive Decks

What’s Poppin PTCGOStore readers? Battle Styles has been out for about a month now, and I’ve had my fair share of time to test most of the new decks. While I have already written an article featuring both Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX (Battle Styles) and Single Strike Urshifu VMAX (Battle Styles), there are plenty of great new concepts to explore. Some of the most viable decks were built out of this set, like Victini VMAX (Battle Styles), and I’m sure there have to be others that are solid too! This article aims to share my favorite competitive decks that are rocking out in the Battle Styles Pokemon metagame and let you know why they are so awesome! If you’re missing any cards for these decks, use code zlesage5 to save 5% on your next order of codes right here at PTCGOStore.com. That being said, let’s hop into Victini and see how it looks.

Urshifu Unleashed: Two New Decks

Urshifu Unleashed: Two New Decks

What’s Poppin PTCGOStore readers? Battle Styles has been out for about two weeks now, and I’ve had my fair share of time to test most of the new decks. The most exciting decks, at least when I ask my friends, are both of the new Urshifu cards. That’s right, Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX and Single Strike Urshifu VMAX. While early PTCG online event results show that Rapid Strike is better positioned, I am in love with Single Strike, and I think my list is bonkers! This article aims to share professionally tested lists for both decks and help get you hyped up for two brand new decks entering into our Pokemon TCG metagame. If you’re missing any cards for these decks, use code zlesage5 to save 5% on your next order of codes right here at PTCGOStore.com. That being said, let’s hop into Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX!

“Sweet Victory” – Victini VMAX takes Standard!

“Sweet Victory” – Victini VMAX takes Standard!

The first few weeks of Battle Styles have been very inventive, with players bringing their finest deck creations (some good and some bad) to the table. We’ve seen some of the most diverse top cuts in a while, with decks ranging from Corviknight VMAX to Urshifu Rapid Strike/Dragapult VMAX. It seems like there is a little bit more experimentation going on since there are so many new tools to build with, so in other words, the format is a deck builder’s paradise! Those who are opting to play consistent decks have been rewarded as of late, as it seems streamlined VMAX Pokemon are taking over standard format right now, namely, Victini VMAX. Winning the first online tournament of Battle StylesVictini VMAX showed its strength by being able to gun down V Pokemon and OHKO them with ease before they can evolve into their much higher HP counterparts. Victini VMAX is also very simple to play, and it takes as much energy as Eternatus takes to attack, so the decks are very similar in they play out. Efficiency and consistency are two of the keywords we’ll be discussing a lot today, so let’s get into one of Standard's most underrated decks in the format, Victini VMAX!

“G-Max Hurricane” – Corviknight VMAX/Bronzong in Standard!

“G-Max Hurricane” – Corviknight VMAX/Bronzong in Standard!

Ola Trainers! As we approach the Player’s Cup 3 and the Team Challenge, we’re finishing up the final tournaments where VIV is the newest expansion. With Battle Styles on the horizon, we’re unlocking all sorts of new cards and combinations, some of which haven’t even been discovered yet. I know I’ve personally enjoyed hearing about other people’s creative ideas, as I’ve been jotting them down while watching Top 10 List videos as well as pack opening clips.

There’s a lot of creativity to be had in this new expansion, but one of the most creative cards in the whole set has to be Bronzong. Being able to move energy cards around the board has been an ability that has been reprinted many times. However, it will always be loved. The last time we saw an ability like this was on Weavile-GX with that Dark Transfer ability, and before that, another example was Klingklang, which won the US National Championships a few years back. Bronzong, being a spiritual avenger of those cards, has been brought into existence alongside its new partner, Corviknight VMAX. The raw power of having a big VMAX Pokémon with lots of HP and damage output is just the bread and butter of Tier 1 at the moment. Today, let’s talk about Corviknight VMAX with Bronzong!

Top 5 Battle Styles Cards!

Top 5 Battle Styles Cards!

Battle Styles, our newest Pokemon TCG set, brings so much to our existing game and offers plenty of new cards to think about playing! While this set is jam-packed with entertaining cards, I felt it would be a great opportunity to share my personal top five cards in the set after playing around with them for a while. Battle Styles is an exciting set because it introduces two new mechanics into our game, Single Strike cards and Rapid Strike cards. With the new dual mechanic released, Single Strike cards focus on one slow, powerful attack, and Rapid Strike cards feature smaller strategic blows. The most exciting thing about these mechanics is featured on Pokemon, Trainers, and Energy cards alike. Beyond that, the set features many playable cards that fit into existing decks, such as Victini VMAX (Battle Styles), and cards that will support previous archetypes. If you are looking for any codes to pick up these awesome cards, use code zlesage5 to save 5% on your order right here at PTCGOStore.com. That being said, let’s jump into my list!

“Kung Fu Panda!” – A Look At Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX

“Kung Fu Panda!” – A Look At Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX

Top of the afternoon, Trainers! As we embark on Fighting (Battle) Styles coming in as the next PTCG expansion set, we’re going to see an onslaught of new decks approaching the metagame - a lot of these decks are seriously powerful, and aren’t anything we should scoff at. Many people are debating whether or not Rapid Strike (RS) or Single Strike (SS) is the stronger of the two mechanics coming out of the set, however, I’ve been fairly torn on the subject since the initial release of the set.

“Battle Cry II” – More Rapid Strike and Single Pokemon Rise Up!

“Battle Cry II” – More Rapid Strike and Single Pokemon Rise Up!

Hello PTCGO Store trainers! When I wrote my previous article, “Battle Cry”, I had initially covered some of the new cards releasing in Pokemon’s newest expansion. Here is an excerpt form the previous article:
Today is going to be a bit of a different article, as I want to go over some of the cards coming out in the next Pokemon set, Single Strike/Rapid Strike. This expansion is very exciting because Pokemon is releasing a new in-game mechanic that supports Single Strike/Rapid Strike Pokemon; this mechanic is eerily similar to Team Aqua/Team Magma Pokemon mixed in with VMAX evolutions. The set is going to shake up the game and point the power creep in the right direction.

I couldn’t get enough of this set as I have since realized that more Pokemon and cards have synergy than I initially thought. I wanted to explore more into the depths of some cards that got released, and talk about some speculated top tier contenders within the new format that will soon be upon us. Let’s talk about some more of my favourite new cards from Single Strike/Rapid Strike!
