Hey everyone! It's Gabriel Smart back with another article today! I hope everyone has been doing well and is thriving in the New Year! Today, I am going to be going over a deck that has taken the recent meta by storm! A prominent card finally has new tools that have given it the potential to reach new heights! That card is Suicune V! Suicune has been a prominent force in the meta since its release in Evolving Skies! Suicune V (Evolving Skies) has been paired with partners like Ludicolo (Evolving Skies), Inteleon (Chilling Reign), and more! Now, it finally has some new partners to take it to the next level! Those partners are the Galarian Bird Trio! Galarian Zapdos V, Galarian Articuno V, Galarian Moltres (Chilling Reign) are new tools that this deck is able to use. Galarian Zapdos V, and Galarian Moltres V, provide powerful attackers against some of the meta's top decks, and Galarian Articuno V provides a great consistency engine for the deck! If you are looking for some PTCGO codes, you are in the right spot. PTCGO store have a large selection of PTCGL codes and they also have instant email delivery of your PTCGL codes to your email! Let's take a deep dive into everything you need to know about Suicune V, paired up with the trinity birds and more!
The Deck
Now you may be wondering how this deck actually functions. Luckily, it’s a lot simpler than it may appear. This deck strategy is adjusted depending on each matchup. If going against dark weak Pokemon, it is critical to utilize cards like Galarian Moltres V (Chilling Reign) to be able to use its Aura Burn attack to take easy knockouts on some of the most powerful Pokemon in the game! Galarian Zapdos V provides a great counter to Pokemon like Jolteon VMAX and Gengar VMAX. So the initial strategy will be to attack with Suicune's early, and follow up with Galarian Zapdos to close the game! This format is widely controlled by dark, and fighting weak Pokemon, which allows the Galarian Bird trio to really take advantage of the meta! Now, let's take a look at the deck!

Key TCG Cards
Suicune V
Although we have multiple other attackers, our core attacker is going to be Suicune V! Against decks that don't need to use cards like Galarian Moltres, and Galarian Zapdos, Suicune will be our main attacker of choice! Its attack Blizzard Rondo can deal up to 220 damage for 2 energy! On top of a fantastic attack, Fleet Footed's ability allows us to consistently dig through our deck and find the cards we need to succeed! Fleet Footed, pairs wonderfully with Rotom Phone (Champions Path) which will be discussed later! Suicune without a doubt is one of the most powerful V pokemon ever created, and it is a no-brainer to have four copies in this deck!
Galarian Moltres V
Suicune is a card that, although powerful, always needs a sidekick to cover its weaknesses! Suicune struggles with cards like Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX (Chilling Reign), Single Strike Urshifu VMAX, Mew VMAX (Fusion Strike) and any other bulky VMAX Pokemon that can one-shot it. Unfortunately for Suicune, Blizzard Rondo is not an attack that can one-shot those Pokemon! Luckily, Aura Burn is able to wipe out those dark weak Pokemon for us! Aura Burn deals a respectable 190 damage, but with weakness, its damage grows to almost 400! This attack allows us to cover our Psychic-type matchups with relative ease! On top of a fantastic attack, Direflame Wings, allows us to power up our Moltres in 1 turn with the likes of Melony, and Raihan! Even as a great attacker, just getting the energy into play with its ability, can open up a world of possibilities when this deck plays item cards like Energy Switch in it! Overall, Galarian Moltres V is a fantastic card in this deck, for more reasons than one, and the optimal count feels like three in this deck.
Galarian Zapdos V
Need a counter to Gengar VMAX (Fusion Strike), and Jolteon VMAX (Evolving Skies)? Well Galarian Zapdos V (Chilling Reign) has you covered! Its attack Thunderous Kick deals a respectable 170 damage. Although 170 damage does not knock out the majority of Pokemon, it does knock out some crucial fighting weak Pokemon! Both Gengar VMAX, and Jolteon VMAX both are weak to fighting, which means Zapdos V will crush them with relative ease! Its ability Fighting Instinct allows us to be able to attack with our Galarian Zapdos much easier, as it lowers the attack cost for every Pokémon V card on your opponent's side of the field. Overall Zapdos is an amazing card and a perfect fit for this metagame.
Galarian Articuno V
Every deck needs a consistent engine. Whether it be Inteleon (Sword and Shield) Genesect V (Fusion Strike) and more, each deck needs some way to churn through itself. Galarian Aritcuno V (Chilling Reign) does just that! Being able to thin your hand, and draw a card is an amazing ability! Galarian Aritcuno's ability Reconstitute allows us to discard dark energy to utilize Direflare Wings, which is critical on our setup against dark weak decks. Lastly, it provides incredible synergy with Rotom Phone! Being able to always draw into the card you Rotom Phoned on top is incredible, and makes the deck much more consistent. Currently, I have two in the deck, and that feels like the optimal count.
Ditto V
Alright we have finally moved past the Galarian trio and now let’s move on to Ditto V! Simply put, Ditto V can be anything you want! Its ability Transform is able to morph into any discard Pokémon V, which is one of the most powerful abilities in the game! Need a second Zapdos V? then Ditto has you covered! Need an extra Galarian Moltres? Or any other V? Ditto V has you covered! Being able to harness the power of Transform, will allow us to shock out opponents with plays they were not expecting, and provides a great surprise factor!
Oranguru
Oranguru (Sword and Shield) is another great consistency card for this deck! Cards like Marnie (Sword and Shield), can be detrimental to this deck, so being able to stack a draw supporter on top to prevent dead drawing off a Marnie, is critical! Furthermore, Oranguru’s Primate Wisdom ability has great synergy with Rotom Phone! Similar to Galarian Aritcuno V’s ability, being able to draw into the card immediately after using Rotom Phone, is a fantastic way to get the cards you need to be successful
Cape of Toughness
Cape is a card that is typically a staple card in Suicune decks, and this deck is no exception. Being able to turn your two-prize attacker into a more bulky Pokemon, potentially preventing one-shot knockouts, is absolutely critical in the grand scheme of things. That extra HP can determine a win from a loss, and that is why Cape of Toughness is a no-brainer! Currently, I have three Cape in the deck, and that has felt like the optimal number.
Rose Tower
Rose Tower might just be the secret MVP of this deck! Due to this deck playing Galarian Articuno V, oftentimes our hands will become very small, which is why Rose Tower is amazing to have! Almost every game, I am playing with 1-2 card hands at some point, so being able to rebuild our hand becomes critical. Currently, I have three in this list, as being able to counter stadiums is absolutely critical with Path to the Peak being such a prevalent disruption stadium in the format!
Energy Switch
Now, this is a card that I originally did not have in the list, but as time went on, I found myself needing to adjust attackers so often, that Energy Switch provided some really critical flexibility to the deck. On top of this, being able to Direflare Wings with Moltres V, and then Energy Switch it over to another attacker, makes this deck significantly more aggressive in the early game!
Conclusion
It is safe to say that the counter box is here to stay! With so many options, a consistent engine, and a strong matchup spread, I am excited to see how this deck performs, in the future! I think that Suicune pokemon online decks will continue to stay relevant, and with cards like Entei V (Brilliant Stars) on the horizon, I am excited to begin working on a new counter box decklist when the new set releases next month!
