What’s poppin’ PTCGL Store readers? Have you started looking into Pokemon TCG’s newest set, Obsidian Flames? Discover the realization of the game-changing Terastal mechanic that has Pokemon changing their typing from what they usually are. Tyranitar ex is usually a Darkness-type Pokemon or a Fighting-type Pokemon, but in Obsidian Flames Tyranitar ex is a Lightning-type Pokemon. The change of typing might not seem like much, but it still takes Fighting-type Energy instead of Lightning-type Energy. That means you can gain strong type coverage against the metagame by pairing it with Tyranitar [Paldea Evolved], Tyranitar [Pokemon Go], and Luminous Energy [Paldea Evolved] to make a masterpiece of a strategy! Are there other powerful Pokemon ex in this set? Of course! In this article, I’ll share my personal top five Pokemon ex in the set, and explain why they are great! If you wanna pick up some codes for this set, and you should, use code zlesage5 to save 5% at ptcglstore.com! Not only does it help support me, but it will help boost your online Pokemon TCG Live collection too! Now let’s jump into my number five pick!
Top 5 Best Cards in Scarlet and Violet

What’s goin’ on, PTCGO Store readers? Have you had a chance to look at the latest Pokemon TCG set, Scarlet and Violet Base? Based on the Nintendo Switch games, Scarlet and Violet, this set features a redesign of the Pokemon TCG as we know it. All Scarlet and Violet base set and on cards feature a new silver border to bring the game’s aesthetic in line with Japan for the first time ever! On top of that, Pokemon ex returns to the Pokemon TCG for the first time in years! Pokemon ex are powerful Pokemon that Evolve from their natural Evolution line instead of having specially printed cards to Evolve from. That means Magnemite [Scarlet and Violet] evolves into Magneton [Scarlet and Violet], and then Magneton evolves into Magnezone ex [Scarlet and Violet]. This is much different than Pokemon VSTAR / VMAX cards from Sword and Shield that would have Duraludon V [Evolving Skies] evolve into a Duraludon VMAX [[Evolving Skies]. It might not sound like much of a change at first, but this places a larger emphasis on Evolution Pokemon, which is an in-game mechanic that hasn’t been as important in recent years. Things are different, things are exciting, and I am hyped to share my top 5 cards from Scarlet and Violet with you! I might even toss in a few honourable mentions too! If you wanna pick up any of the following cards when the set is released later this month on PTCG Live, pick up some codes at the PTCGO Store. You can even use code zlesage5 to save 5% on your order of codes! Let’s jump into my 5th-place pick!

What’s poppin’ PTCGO Store readers? Have you started looking at all of the fantastic cards from Pokemon TCG’s latest set, Crown Zenith? I’ve been preparing for the 2023 Oceania International Championships in Melbourne, Australia and I’m here to share my early findings. At the time of me writing this article the set has basically been fully released, we have limited official English images, but I have a bunch of Japanese translations from trustworthy sites. I guess what I’m trying to say is that it is early so don’t necessarily come after me if some of these card names slightly change when translated into English or if there is an amazing card that I happened to miss out on. While this set does contain a bunch of reprints, there are quite a few awesome new cards to play around with as we round out the Sword and Shield era with one last set! If you’re trying to pick up any Crown Zenith codes to build some new decks, be sure to use code zlesage5 right here at ptcgostore.com to save 5% off your order. Pokemon GO, our newest Pokemon TCG set, brings the best aspects of the Pokemon TCG and the hit mobile game Pokemon GO. In this celebratory mini-set, the goal is to strengthen the bond between different areas of our Pokemon community, but there are quite a few cards that might end up seeing success at the upcoming 2022 Pokemon World Championships in London. Recently Pokemon announced that the upcoming Lost Origins set will be delayed which means that Astral Radiance will be our latest main set and Pokemon GO will be the differentiating factor heading into Worlds. Furthermore, our usual rotation of cards that happens in August / September has been pushed to early 2023 to bring us closer to Japan’s set legality. The goal of this article is to offer my fresh perspective on the best cards in the Pokemon GO TCG set for competitive play. I don’t always get these 100% right, but I love to share my competitive insight with our community! Let’s jump into these great cards.

Hello, Pokemon trainers from all around the globe! I’m sure you’re all settling up nice and cozy into 2022 with some Pokemon, whether you’re enjoying some good ol’ Pokemon TCG online or some Pokemon Legends Arceus. I decided that with Brilliant Stars on the horizon, I think it’s about that we start focussing on the newest mechanic that will be running our format, VSTARs! This unique Pokemon V only give up two Prize Cards, and evolve from Pokemon V. Here is the product description from Pokemon themselves:
“The stars are coming out to shine in the next Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion, Sword & Shield—Brilliant Stars. There are over 170 cards in this latest collection, including new Pokémon V and Pokémon VMAX. Also featured are brand-new Pokémon VSTAR, which evolve from Pokémon V and come equipped with a mighty VSTAR Power, a special Ability or attack that can turn the tide of a battle. Just be aware that you can use only one VSTAR Power per game (and don't miss our earlier look at the Pokémon VSTAR gameplay mechanic, which includes a peek at Arceus VSTAR and Charizard VSTAR).”
Now let's take a peek at some of these new Pokémon VSTAR and a few of the other awesome cards that you can find when the Sword & Shield—Brilliant Stars expansion releases on 2月 25, 2022!
